Adding to the list of NEW businesses coming to Highland Park, Make-me-Take-me opened at the end of last month, and is already doing exceptional business.
The store, at 248 Raritan Ave(corner of S. 3rd and Raritan), in the former Corner Confectionery retail space, is named for the personalized stuffed animals - mi-dolls - that will be made and sold in the store.
“You make them (in the store) and take them (home)," said Dr. Lei Yang, co-owner of Make-Me-Take-Me with his wife Joanna. "Come in and see the growing Wall of Imagination, created by YOU, our patron-artists! Our Mi-Dolls and Cartoon mugs and pottery are unique and uniquely made--by YOU!" MORE

Three Businesses Owners Celebrate their First Anniversary in Highland Park
Three businesses committed to Highland Park last year--Eden Organix, Peachepot Clothier and White Lotus Home. Each has become a model for how businesses can be successful during tough economic times. The business owners credit some of their success to Main Street Highland Park (MSHP), the non-profit that’s dedicated to revitalizing the downtown.
“We’re keeping downtown Highland Park the center of commerce, culture and community,” said James McCrone, Executive Director of MSHP.
Heather McCall, assistant state coordinator of Main Street New Jersey, said, “it’s important to have a downtown management organization in good or bad times.” MORE
