The rain will end, the skies will clear, and Random Acts of Fun will kick off! June 25th along Raritan Avenue from Cedar to 2nd Avenues. Saint Peter’s Healthcare Network is the title sponsor of all three events this summer.

“Random Acts of Fun is the ideal thing for a family to do on a summer night,” said Main Street Highland Park director, James McCrone. “Everybody looks forward to these Thursday evenings. The fact that we are supposed to have great summer weather on Thursday just adds to it,” he added.

Kelly Robicheau, is the Store Manager of Stop and Shop, which has been in its current location since 1999. She was drawn to this kind of work, she said for practical and pragmatic reasons: “I like that it’s never the same. It’s a challenge every day…and we all have to eat,” Robicheau said.

Stop & Shop fits right into Highland Park, because, Robicheau says, "Our company is involved in the green effort in a number of ways.

Farmers' Market Continues Innovative Tradition

Main Street Recognizes Volunteers at Random Acts

The Highland Park Farmers Market began 14 years ago as an innovative attempt to bring borough residents closer to the best the Garden State had to offer.  Through the years the Market has remained true to both its agricultural "roots" and its innovative impulse.  It has brought in grass-fed beef, cage-free eggs and artisanal cheese; organic produce and fresh mozzarella.  Two years ago, Elijah's Promise joined the Market.

This year, the farmer’s market, in its 14th year, is partnering for the first time with the Highland Park Food Bank so that less fortunate families can have access to fresh produce. More...
