“This race has shaped up into an excellent event, with something like 500 racers expected. There is still room for sponsors,” said Main Street director James McCrone, “and lots of volunteer opportunities.”
“It’s going to be a wonderful fun, family, community event on a beautiful course,” said HP 5-K committee member Andrea Baay.
“This is a fine example of Highland Park’s community spirit and commitment to healthful competition,” said McCrone.
Race organizers are hoping that sports teams from the high school, the middle school, the Highland Park Soccer association and others will join in the fun. Residents can participate or come out and cheer on friends, family and neighbors in this community-building event.
Race organizers are asking those who live along the route to set up lawn chairs and provide beverages and encouragement to the runners.
Registrations postmarked before May 10 are $25 and $28 thereafter, including the day of the race. (USATF members receive a $2 discount).
Registration forms can be picked at MSHP’s office at 421 Raritan Ave. or from various businesses throughout the borough. Checks should be made out to “Main Street Highland Park-5K”.

Sponsorships are still available!
